Will my parents find out about my infringement - minor possess alcohol in public place?

Im staying at a motel in Surfers Paradise QLD and got an infringement for minor in possesion of alcohol - I turn 18 in a week. The police took my mobile number, the address and name of the motel me and my mum are at for the next week and my address in Canberra. Will they come to the motel? Or will they send a letter to my home? Im thinking about not telling my parents.
