Is America Too Censored?

I have always found it odd how a "free country" can be so censored. We censure words, , movies, television, radio, etc. Yet, when I went to Europe censorship is so much less. is not seen as bad or unclean as it as seen here. Also, I find it odd how we can censure things such as on television and cursing on the radio, but allow movies and television to show a guys head get blown off and blood splatter everywhere. Though, if you say it is to protect the children, well I personally think it is much more damaging to see a man brutally killed like on the show CSI then for a child to see a naked human body or hear a curse word. So, do you think America is too censored?
