Preparing to pull out a motor, but i've never done this before?

ok i bought my first project car (1991 mitsu 3000gt non turbod) and i bought it with a bad motor. i just bought a new motor for it, and i want to undo everything so it will b ready to b pulled from the car (my friend has a cherry picker he's letting me use to pull the old motor out and to put the new one in, but he can't help me tomorrow) so i'm on my own in getting it ready to b pulled. so does someone know of a website that gives step by step instructions, or can someone just at least tell me the gist of what i'm supposed to do? im new to this whole working on cars thing lol. thx
