If our merciful sweet Lord supports slavery, why is it abolished now?

You are reading this page with the wrong concept. He's not talking about slavery as in the Isrealites to the egyptians or the african-americans to the whites. He's talking about the people who have authority over you (i.e.President, boss, etc.). He's talking about SERVING the people for something. (money, possessions)
