Do I have any rights if my neighbor is a felon?

I mean, I live in a duplex and my neighbor is a felon. I just found out, it was on the national registry. We've always had problems with him fighting with his girlfriend and blasting music, and he's always had a really bad(scary) temper so we try to just let him do whatever. The landlord didn't tell us anything, I'm sure he doesn't HAVE to, but this is scary stuff. Do I have any rights, or do I have to just move?
